Why Weaver Birds Prefer to Have Their Nests at the Edge of Acacia Trees?
1. Protection: Acacia trees have thorns that deter predators, such as snakes, monkeys, and raptors, from reaching the nests. The nests are also camouflaged by the leaves and branches of the tree.
2. Food: Acacia trees provide a source of nectar and insects for the weaver birds, especially during the dry season. The birds can also feed on the seeds and fruits of other plants that grow near the acacia trees.
3. Space: Acacia trees have enough room for the weaver birds to build their nests in colonies, which helps them to socialize and cooperate with each other. The birds can also monitor the surroundings and communicate with each other more easily from the edge of the tree.
